Day 11!!

We are eleven days into our epic journey to bridge the gap across America! We left Dubuque this morning to head down to the Southeastern Iowa town of Donnellson! Once we got settled in, we had the opportunity to interview retired science teacher, Ernie Schiller and legislator Jeff Kauffman. The crew then enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Green Acres Golf Club in Donnellson followed by some rest and more footage at the Stein house. (who are the lovely parents of our producer, Susan!) After a delicious Irish stew dinner, courtesy of Susan Stein, we hosted a ice cream social and discussion for local high school students. All participants had the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. The night ended with some delicious ice cream!

Not only is tomorrow Friday; it’s the Fourth of July! Keep posted to what we will do to celebrate and make sure you sign the unity petition on our website! :-)
